what today sounded like.  this one was for the ladies.

we’re talking about how cool ‘little spark’ is, and how gorgeous her voice is.  and he is a huge grizzly bear of a man(complete w/ long hair and full beard).  his favorite bands include radiohead, rage against the machine, and anything jack white does.  but tonight i made him a jessie baylin fan.  love it.

i took a while to post a song from the full lp (i’ve posted Hurry Hurry like twice, i think haha) because i really wanted to pick my favorite from the album.  here it is.  it’s beautiful and honest and heart breaking and maybe it’s just the mood i’ve been in lately, but that melody just sits in your bones.  i’ve been humming the melody for a couple weeks now (even before i was sure of all the words).  this may not be the strongest lyrically, but the way she sings it?  man, oh man.  

but get it at a record store.  a real, honest to god, record store.  if you have one.  support your independents, kids.  they’re the ones that still carry indie music like jessie’s.  

it’s a free download on amazon!  how could i not post it?  this song has literally been on repeat (via youtube until amazon released it) since i first heard this cut at the end of spring/beginning of summer.  can’t get enough of it.  she’s catchy and authentic.  i’m so so excited for her full album in a couple weeks.

in honor of all the attention she’s gotten in the last couple days.  she’s amazing and this song is easily my fav of hers.  so far.
